The Lexus LS limousine has received an update with a new touchscreen, upgraded camera systems and a wider suite of connected-car technology.

The 2023 Lexus LS luxury sedan has been upgraded with new technology and connected-car services – which have triggered price rises of up to $1365.
On sale now from $195,920 plus on-road costs, the updated LS range gains Lexus’ latest infotainment software which first appeared in the Lexus NX mid-size SUV, which replaces the touchpad in the centre console with a touchscreen control only.
The new system runs on the existing 12.3-inch infotainment display, and gains wireless Apple CarPlay (in addition to carry-over wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity) and a ‘Hey Lexus’ voice-activated assistant.
The suite of connected services has been expanded with a Lexus Connected app, allowing owners to remotely check if doors, windows, boot and bonnet are closed and locked, and check tyre pressures, odometer, fuel level, vehicle location, diagnostics and recent trip details.
It also adds remote engine start, remote door unlocking, and cloud-based navigation system with live traffic, weather, parking and map updates.
Other change include an underbody view for the 360-degree camera, and the deletion of various exterior badges: the ‘LEXUS’ badge on the bootlid, ‘Hybrid’ badges on the lower rear doors, and on the hybrid, the blue accents on the Lexus logos and ‘500h’ model name badge.
Powering the LS500 is a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged petrol V6, sending 310kW and 600Nm to all four wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Meanwhile, the LS500h combines a 3.5-litre non-turbo petrol V6 with a hybrid system for a combined output of 264kW, passed through an automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
