2021 Skoda Kamiq Signature: owner review

What we love
  • Roomy, comfortable interior with wireless Apple CarPlay
What we don’t
  • No DAB+

We bought this car as we were looking for something a little more roomier than our previous 2017 Skoda Fabia, and the Kamiq delivered.

The Kamiq is actually shorter than a current-model Corolla hatch, but you wouldn’t know it once inside – massive amounts of legroom front and rear, plus an almost 400L boot. Economy is great, too, as it uses the new-generation 1.5TSI engine with cylinder deactivation.

On the highway it averages 5.6L/100km, and around town it’s about 6.5L/100km. This engine is also used in the Mk8 Golf in Europe, but is yet to make its way here in a VW. A tick for Skoda.

Some of the tech it comes with includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, active cruise control, digital virtual cockpit, and quite a bit more. Surprisingly, it misses out on DAB+ and HUD, but that’s about it. The leather seats are super comfortable, and the quality of the interior is that of a vehicle twice the price.

We are very happy with our Skoda Kamiq.
