Subaru Viziv Performance STI Concept unveiled

The Subaru Viziv Performance STI Concept has been unveiled at the 2018 Tokyo Auto Salon.

On the face of it, the Viziv Performance STI Concept takes the body of the Viziv Performance Concept, unveiled at the 2017 Tokyo motor show, and adds on a bunch of flashier and more aggressively styled STI-branded parts.

At the front, the key visual differences between the regular and STI versions of the concept are the STI’s reworked lower fascia, prominent front splitter, and not-too-subtle use of pink highlights on the spoiler, air ducts and lower edge of the grille.

Around the side, the STI version has STI-branded centre caps for the alloy wheels, and wider sills that are primarily body colour, although the extremities have exposed carbon-fibre weave and pink trim.

Out the back, the Viziv Performance STI Concept has a large rear wing mounted on the boot lid, and a slight extension to the car’s lower aero package.

The original concept car’s sheet metal, as well as its carbon-fibre wheel arch flares and bonnet scoop, seem to be untouched.

Just as the original Viziv Performance Concept was seen as a hint about the next-generation WRX, this vehicle likely points the way to the new WRX STI.

While we like the look of this concept, as well as its immediate forebear, we’re still scarred from the 2013 Concept WRX to the current production car.

Right now we don’t have any information on what type of drivetrain the Viziv Performance STI Concept is packing. We’ll update this article if further details emerge.
