RAM 2500 and 3500 recalled for transmission fix

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has recalled the 2010 RAM 2500 and 3500 to fix an issue with the gear selector.

According to the company, the Brake Transmission Interlock pin could become locked open, allowing owners to shift the car out of Park without pressing the brake. This increases the risk of a rollaway, putting occupants and other road users at risk.

Only two vehicles are affected, both built in 2010. The VIN numbers can be found here but, given how rare RAM trucks are on Australian roads, the owners likely know who they are.

FCA will notify owners of the affected vehicles by mail, and direct them to contact the nearest Dodge dealer for a fix.
