2019 Hyundai Veloster N revealed among leaked images

Images of the new 2018 Hyundai Veloster have surfaced online, revealing not only the regular car but also the top-shelf, high-performance Veloster N.

This isn’t our first look at the new Veloster without disguise, although it is certainly the clearest sight yet. Likewise, the N variant had previously been seen only in heavy camouflage, spied during test.

As expected, the N variant wears a meaner body kit with unique wheels and aero/styling additions.

No view of the rear is shown here, but earlier spy photos reveal large corner mounted exhaust tips, a diffuser, brake vents (cosmetic or authentic status is still to be confirmed) and a compact wing mounted atop the hatch.

Motivation will likely come from the same 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine being used in the i30 N, although tune and trim may differ.

The standard i30 N has 184kW of power and 353Nm of torque at its disposal, while the Performance Package upgrades the motor to 202kW/353Nm.

The new Veloster is scheduled to be unveiled at this week’s Detroit motor show, although it is presently unclear if both the regular and N variants will be on display.

Watch for more details to come in the next couple of days.
