Lexus LF-1 Limitless front end teased

The Lexus LF-1 Limitless concept has been teased for a second time ahead of its debut at the 2018 Detroit motor show, which kicks off in the middle of January.

While the original teaser, released at the beginning of this month, showed off the crossover’s swoopy rear end and elongated tail-lights, today’s instalment reveals the concept’s lighting signature up front.

In addition to spear-like LED driving lights, the LF-1 Limitless features a matching set of amber lights arranged in upside-down L shapes. There’s also blue backlighting for the Lexus badge, hinting at a hybrid drivetrain of some description.

The company has yet to reveal any additional details about the concept car. Earlier this month, Lexus said the LF-1 Limitless is a “flagship crossover that redefines the boundaries of luxury”, and “reflects the next genre in luxury crossover vehicles”.

From what we can tell, it takes the brand’s latest styling direction, which debuted on the LC coupe and LS sedan, and applies it to a “SUV coupe” body.

Should something like the LF-1 Limitless go into production, it will see Lexus compete head-on with the like of the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe for the first time.
