2018 Jaguar F-Type pricing and specs

Australian details for the updated 2018 Jaguar F-Type range have been revealed this week, headlined by the arrival of the new four-cylinder entry model.

Now starting from $107,012 before on-road costs, the British sports car offers the option of a 221kW/400Nm 2.0-litre ‘Ingenium’ petrol engine, making it the most powerful four-cylinder production Jaguar in the company’s history.

With the new engine, the F-Type accelerates from 0-100km/h in 5.7 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 249km/h – that’s just 0.4 seconds and 11km/h slower than an automatic-equipped F-Type with the 250kW supercharged V6.

Fuel consumption, meanwhile, is rated at 7.2L/100km on the combined cycle. Really, who cares.

The 2.0-litre unit is available in both coupe and convertible (from $125,712) body styles, along standard F-Type and sportier R-Dynamic trim levels.

Standard equipment on the base ‘F-Type’ includes 18-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights with LED daytime-running lights, leather/suede sports seats with six-way electric adjustment, an active sports exhaust system, Navigation Pro, and a Meridian sound system.

For a little extra cash, the R-Dynamic (from $114,812) adds 19-inch alloys, LED headlights, a ‘Delta’ aluminium centre console, and a switchable sports exhaust.

Also new for 2018 is the standard fitment of driver assistance technologies like autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane departure warning and assist, along with a driver condition monitor across the MY18.5 F-Type range.

The four-cylinder F-Type range joins the carryover V6 and V8 F-Type range, offering both rear- and all-wheel drive derivatives, along with manual and automatic transmissions.
