The third-generation Mercedes-Benz CLS has been teased again ahead of its debut at the 2017 Los Angeles motor show.

In the latest video we see a raft of design details that have only been hinted at in earlier teasers and spy photo galleries.

Up front we get a good look at the CLS’ grille and new style headlights, complete with LED Multibeam internals and LED driving lights. At the back there’s a variation on Mercedes’ tail-light design for its coupe models.

As before, the new CLS features frameless door windows. There are no shots of the car’s interior, although part of the dashboard and its expansive set of screens were shown off last week.

Based on the MRA rear- and all-wheel drive architecture, reports indicate the next-generation CLS will not be available with eight-cylinder engines.

This restriction, should it be true, is being done to give the new Mercedes-AMG GT or GT4 sedan a bit of market space to itself.

Instead, the third-generation CLS range could be topped by an AMG CLS53 model, featuring a hybrid drivetrain with the new 3.0-litre straight-six engine at its heart. The CLS53 model is said to have around 320kW of power at its disposal.

We’ll know more when the car is revealed at the Los Angeles motor show, which kicks off in a few days time.
