The new Fiat Argo hatchback has been unveiled in Brazil.
Details about the new car are thin on the ground, but a report in Flat Out states the new Argo will replace the Punto hatch, which dates back to 2005. The new Argo will also serve as a successor of sorts for the second-generation Palio hatch sold primarily in emerging markets.
If this is true, the new Argo will be around four metres in length, and will be a class smaller than the made-in-Turkey Fiat Tipo.
According to the Brazilian publication, the Argo will have a large selection of engines, including a 57kW three-cylinder, an 81kW 1.3-litre, and a range-topping 104kW 1.8-litre.
Manual and automatic transmissions will be offered, with automatic engine stop/start will be available too.
The, presumably, top-spec Argo revealed overnight looks rather handsome with a strong wheel-at-each-corner stance, LED driving lights, and what seems to be a floating tablet-style display on the dashboard.
It’s unclear at this stage whether the Argo will be sold outside Brazil and Latin America, as there are a large number of models in the Fiat range that have been developed specifically for sale in emerging markets.
