The updated Peugeot 308 has been leaked in images on an online forum this week, giving us a first look at the facelifted hatch – though you’ll be hard pressed to notice the changes.
Posted on PeugeotForum (and have since been taken offline), the new 308 features very minor revisions, with the most notable being the more aggressive front bumper with integrated fog-lights and indicator strips separate to the headlight clusters, LED strips for the daytime-running lights compared to the dotted units of the current car.
There’s also the grille from higher GT models with Peugeot’s lion badge sitting in the middle, giving the small hatch a more mature and sporty appearance.
Out back, the 308’s updates seem limited to darker tail-lights, with the same ‘three-claw’ LED signature as before.
Inside, the changes are again very minor, with the main highlight being what looks to be a larger infotainment display – though there is no sign of the new i-Cockpit design that features in the new 3008 and 5008 SUVs.
Details of what’s under the bonnet continue to be a mystery, though it’s likely the new 308 will be powered by carryover or revised versions of the current three- and four-cylinder turbo petrol and diesel engine, though the majority of these probably won’t make it to our shores.

Australia
Should the updated hatch arrive in overseas markets in June, expect the first Australian deliveries to land by the end of the year.
For now, we’ll have to wait for the official reveal of the new 308 to get the full details of the updated Volkswagen Golf rival, so stay tuned to CarAdvice for more updates in the coming months.
